With the warmer weather creeping up on us, you better start putting pen to paper and make some fantastic plans to make summer 2014 memorable! I decided to write a list of ideas which I would like to accomplish this summer. You should too, whether you are sharing the summer with your loved one, family, or friends – let’s make summer the best yet!
Here are 10 Summer Activities to share with others over your summer.
This could literally mean anything; a long walk, a drive to a new destination, etc. It doesn’t have to be an airplane ride to an exotic destination with white sandy beaches and light blue oceans. Seeing something new is exciting and sharing that with someone brings you closer together.
When I was a child, I loved getting on my bike and riding anywhere I could. I loved organizing those memorable trips with my brothers and my friends. Even if it were just a bike ride to our local sweet store, we would jump at the prospect of cycling away together. One of the best parts was the ice cream at the end; there was nothing more delicious to conclude the enthralling summer bike rides.
Take a camera everywhere you go and snap every moment! Seriously, it is a lot of fun to look back at the events you shared. During those future troubles, it means millions to have these memories to look over.
Life’s richer when you develop and share a talent with people around you. When contemplating over a new hobby to take up, ensure that you think out-of-the-box with this new talent to learn over the summer. Maybe try to learn to play an instrument, learn a language, or learn to cook. Just spice up your 10 summer activities by learning something new.
Give back to someone you care about this summer. Bake some cookies, share a treat, or just reach out to someone in need. It is always better to go about your days with a smile and allows others to feel special and loved for a while. “To find real happiness, we must seek for it in a focus outside ourselves,” President Thomas S. Monson teaches. “No one has learned the meaning of living until he has surrendered his ego to the service of his fellow man. Service to others is akin to duty, the fulfillment of which brings true joy.”
Be adventurous and spend the night in a tent, cook some dinner over the fire and live life without technology. You will be amazed how free you feel when your phone is switched off and you talk to your loved one, family, or friends without a device stuck to your hand.
One camping trip I remember the most is one that incorporated the group to make a certain memoire. Our summer activity was to make a banner with our handprints on it. It was so simple, yet it has been kept as a reminder of the immense amounts of fun had by all. Over your summer, you could create a banner or make a mini movie of your adventures. It’s a fun, easy way of capturing a little something as a reminder of your 10 summer activities!
If you have access to a pool then take a ball along, get a group together and play a very active and fun game of water volleyball. It’s enjoyable as well as an energizing way to burn some calories. If a pool is not easily accessible then grab some water balloons and towels and catapult the water balloon to your opponent. My husband and I were able to play this summer activity as a group date. Each person was splashed and all had smiles on their faces.
Summer activities are great fun when shared with the people you love. Each summer vacation should include some activities with your family. These could include a walk on the beach, re-decorating your home as a family, or plans with all opinions included to make the project fun for all. Each parent should ensure that they spend quality time with their children one on one as well as all together. The bonds which are made when doing this solidify the relationship as well as building respect and love for one another.
My final tip for these 10 summer activities is to have some fun along with staying safe and healthy. Make sure that whatever you are doing is enjoyable as well as safe! Summer is a fantastic time of the year and everyone seems to be a lot friendlier and happier throughout the summer months. Don’t let yourself be overloaded with summer treats! Keep yourself motivated towards staying healthy and looking good. Start each day with a glass of water and a workout to keep your summer body rockin’ as well as keeping your self-esteem high. Feel good this summer and enjoy each of these 10 summer activities!
