It has now been 8 months after my son was born and I am finally feeling like I am a fit and healthy mum! My baby pooch hung around and tormented me for the longest time however, I have finally figured out a fitness routine that has helped incredibly! Mixing up cardio along with body weight training has allowed me to look like the women I was before the pregnancy and ‘water weight’ took over.
Has it been easy? Absolutely not, and my self-esteem has taken a rather big hit. I am sure many mothers can empathize with me in understanding the sluggish feeling just after having a baby. There is a certain pressure that looms over women after childbirth causing them feel they have to bounce back immediately. Whoever created that illusion needs a reality check! That said, those who feel they can’t do anything after having a baby need to simply re-schedule their agenda and get back into their fit and healthy mood!
Take control and change
Motherhood is difficult – I know that for sure! The thought of adding a work out into the feedings, diaper changes, tummy time and much needed rest, for a new mom is sometimes a joke but, I can promise you it gets easier! I found that my low self-esteem drove me towards finding time to work out. It took me about 5-6 months to adjust to the lack of sleep while transitioning from just sitting and watching Netflix all day. I found that doing all this first thing in the morning works. Figure out what time your baby wakes up and get yourself up 15mins earlier in order to have time to yourself and work on your figure!
I can promise you it is worth it! In a small amount of time, I was able to pull myself out of the dark, depressive outlook on myself and am now confident enough to be proud of my body! Yes my body is left with some stretch marks but it isn’t left with a baby pooch! It feels great to be a fit and healthy Mum!
Share the secret!
What worked for me? I am happy to share my secret. It is not difficult and you can do it in the comfort of your own home! That is right- the best of both worlds, getting fit and healthy and you never have to open the front door.
The links bellow helped me go from baby pooch to a much flatter stomach as well as a higher confidence! Do a mixture of these throughout your week as well as eating healthy and look for improvements. Let me know how your journey goes!
